Sherry

Sherry is a fortified wine from the Cádiz province in southern Spain. To be considered a Sherry, the wine must be produced in certain concrete regions from grapes grown in these regions.

The wine has a very characteristic flavour, and can range from bone-dry to sickly-sweet. The dry varieties are a straw colour and are typically consumed as aperitif drinks, whereas the sweet varieties are usually consumed after meals and are a deep brown.
