Dave Herman is a Certified Specialist of Spirits and a native New Yorker. After beginning his career in the music industry he decided to focus on his first love: food and drink. He began working with New York City’s premiere craft beer distributor and then moved to Spuyten Duyvil, the world-famous craft beer bar in Brooklyn. In 2008 he partnered to open the well-loved restaurant Porchetta in the East Village. Since selling his share of the restaurant, Dave has been committed to using his connoisseurship of fine alcoholic beverages and food to educate people on the best-made drinks and most delicious combinations available.

Dave is the Spirits & Wine General Manager at Mouth.com, curating a fun and delectable selection of small batch and hand-produced drinks made by some of the most dedicated craft distillers and vintners in the USA.

Dave is also a regular instructor at The 92nd Street Y and The Institute of Culinary Education, and has had classes featured at other venues around New York City. He has created a variety of classes and pairings for events including corporate gatherings, charity fund raisers, and parties at private residences.
